Dana Moos is a real estate broker, former inn owner and cookbook author selling inns, hotels and boutique motels throughout Maine. She is a native Washingtonian who grew up in the DC suburbs of Maryland and moved to Maine in 2004 to purchase The Kingsleigh Inn in Southwest Harbor with her husband Greg. Like many dreaming of inn ownership and escaping the rat race, she has fully embraced a more enjoyable pace; "Maine, the way life should be and can't imagine not living in Maine.
Dana has been a lodging broker in Maine since 2008, with over 55 million in lodging sales and is well versed in the tourism and hospitality industry. Her strengths in marketing, the financials, understanding of tourism and hospitality and creative vision for seeing a property’s potential help buyers and sellers alike. Dana understands the nuances of a hospitality transaction and guides her clients through the intricate steps to a successful closing and beyond. She prides herself on being accessible, very responsive and really listens to her clients needs.
Tori Baron and her husband Robin purchased The James Place Inn in Freeport in 2006 and in June 2019, they sold to a lovely couple to take the reign. Being an innkeeper has made Tori well versed in buying an inn, selling an inn, and what it takes to successfully operate an inn. She has made a career of helping people, having a background in service, marketing, and accounting prior to realizing her dream to own and operate an inn. This brought Tori and her family from Michigan to Maine and it has been a love affair ever since. The desire to share knowledge and expertise and to help others realize their dream to be part of the hospitality industry, are what makes joining The Swan Agency Sotheby's International Realty the logical next step in Tori's career.
Tori and Robin hired Dana to list their inn and in June 2019, they handed over the torch to new owners. Several months prior to closing on the inn, Dana shared thoughts with Tori about wanting to expand her business, as she considered the possibility of bringing on a new specialist/agent to work with as a team, one also experienced in the hospitality industry. Dana appreciated Tori's understanding of the market, the financials and what operating today's inn entails in the ever changing landscape of OTAs (online travel agencies) such as Booking.com, Expedia and AirBnB.
Both Dana and Tori are enthusiastic and passionate about tourism and hospitality and share the understanding that offering hospitable service is the foundation of building and maintaining client relationships. Between us we have 20 years of innkeeping experience. Hospitality is in our genes. You either have it or you have to work at it. We have it. Soon after planning meetings and long discussions, The Maine Inn Team was formed.
